Today’s neurosurgery and spine leaders are navigating a multitude of pressures, with procedural shifts top of mind as a growing proportion of spine cases make their way to hospital outpatient status or shift to ambulatory sites. In this webinar, co-presented by Sg2 and Mayfield Brain & Spine, speakers will discuss trends, considerations, and practical approach to making the shift, with highlights including:

As a member of Sg2’s Intelligence team, Donnelle leads the development and delivery of Sg2’s orthopedic and spine offerings. She translates trends, developments and market forces that shape the future of orthopedics and spine into strategic business recommendations and resources for Sg2’s members.

Donnelle has served in a variety of strategic planning and business development roles for community and regional health care systems. As a former health care management consultant, Donnelle leverages her experience with physician alignment and engagement initiatives with her work in M&A and strategic planning to deliver comprehensive resources for Sg2 members. She is a former leader in physician acquisitions with experience in medical group management and integration. Prior to joining Sg2, Donnelle worked as a health care system strategy leader, focused on acute care and ambulatory planning in newly developed regional health care systems.

Donnelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies, German and psychology from Washington & Jefferson College and a master’s in health administration from The Pennsylvania State University. After finishing her MHA, Donnelle completed an administrative fellowship at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

In 2022, Donnelle was recognized as an Emerging Leader by Women in Healthcare.

Mark Vorherr is the chief executive officer of Mayfield Brain & Spine, one of the nation’s leading independent neurosurgery practices, based in Cincinnati, OH. He oversees six patient care offices, partnerships with the region's leading health systems and an outpatient surgery center, and support operations. Mayfield served more than 30,000 patients from 39 states in 2023. Mark joined Mayfield in 2021 from the Mount Carmel Medical Group, where he was president and COO. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and a Master of Health Services Administration at Xavier University.

As part of Sg2’s Intelligence team, Kate leads the development and delivery of Sg2’s neurosciences and spine offerings, working closely with clients to provide comprehensive research- and analytics-driven strategic intelligence.

In her current role, she also contributes to projects including the annual development of Sg2’s Impact of Change® forecast and grouper methodology, as well as numerous white papers and service line–focused consulting engagements. She has been an invited speaker at national meetings for organizations such as the Neurosurgery Executives’ Resource Value and Education Society, the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, and Medtronic’s Neuroscience Healthcare Executive Summit. She regularly interacts with members via webinars, planning retreats and education sessions on trends related to the neurosciences and spine landscape, evolution of stroke care, and more.

Previously, Kate contributed to Sg2’s behavioral health and orthopedics work, as well as publications on a range of enterprise strategy topics. Prior to joining Sg2, Kate worked at Rush University Medical Center in emergency management, and also at SPM, a health care marketing and branding firm. Before transitioning into health care, Kate enjoyed a variety of roles in the arts with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Christie's Auction House, Daniel Weinberg Gallery and others.

Kate earned an MS in health systems management from Rush University in Chicago and received her BA from the University of Southern California.
